A driver crashes into a street market in Los Angeles and leaves at least nine injured

Six people were hospitalized, one seriously, and two children were injured, after a van crashed into a street stall. The driver claims that someone pointed a gun at him and trying to avoid it he swerved and crashed.


At least nine pedestrians were injured this Saturday morning, after a pickup truck crashed into a street market at an intersection in MacArthur Park in Los Angeles, California.

The Fire Department reported that six of them had to be transported to nearby hospitals, at least one seriously injured.

Two children were also injured in the crash

The spokeswoman for the Police Department, Norma Eisenman, clarified that no one's life is in danger, as reported by the Los Angeles Times.

The driver told police he swerved off the road because he thought someone was pointing a gun at him, and ended up crashing into street vendor stalls.

Eisenman said he did not appear to be under the influence of any substance that would render him unable to drive.

So far the authorities have not filed charges against the driver, explaining that they still have to carry out the corresponding expert reports before establishing responsibilities.
