France: Unprecedented achievement for the far left in parliamentary elections Israel today

2022-06-12T18:56:31.803Z

According to the results of the polls, the "together" bloc of the incumbent president is expected to gain between 270 and 310 seats out of 577 seats in the lower house of parliament, while the coalition of left-wing parties is expected to gain between 170 and 220 seats, but there is much uncertainty. Will determine the final results

Less than two months after President Emanuel Macron was elected to a second term, his first big test was held on Sunday when millions of French people voted in the first round of elections to the National Assembly, the lower house of the French parliament.

According to the polls at the end of the first round of voting, there is uncertainty about the extent of the victory of the political bloc that supports the president and there is a possibility that this bloc, called "Together", will not be able to gain an absolute majority in the next parliament.

According to the results of the samples, the Yahad bloc won between 270 and 310 seats out of the 577 seats at the next meeting.

To get an absolute majority Macron needs to get 289 seats.

The coalition of left-wing parties, led by far-left leader Jean-Luc Melonson, is expected to win between 170 and 220 seats.

However, according to the nationwide polls, the left-wing coalition - which also includes the Socialist, Communist and Ecological Party - received more votes than the Macron bloc: the left bloc received 26.20% of all votes compared to 25.80% for the Macron camp.

The Republican Conservative Party will likely be the third largest faction in parliament with between 33 and 53 seats.

The party of populist right-wing leader Marin Le Pen apparently won 15-30 seats.

It is unclear whether Eric Zamor's party, also from the populist right, will win seats in the next parliament.

In the current round of voting, a historic record was set for abstention - 52.5%.

The second round of voting next Sunday will decide the face of the French parliament and the question of whether Macron can freely control France or whether the opposition on the right and left will block it and create an unprecedented political crisis in the history of the Fifth Republic.
