Britain has launched a new investigation into the Google Play app based on suspicions of anti-competitive behaviour.
According to Bloomberg News, the British Competition and Markets Authority has launched an investigation into a breach of competition law committed by Google over its distribution of smartphone applications in Britain.
"The authority plans to open another investigation into the market power of Apple and Google in smartphone browsers and Apple's restrictions on cloud gaming," said Andrea Coseli, CEO of the Competition and Markets Authority.
The Competition and Markets Authority, which is concerned with antitrust, has completed a wide study of the dominance of Alphabet and Apple on mobile phone systems in the United Kingdom.
