The head of the Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, stressed that the decision of the International Atomic Energy Agency's board of governors against Iran would not be in favor of the Vienna negotiations, describing it as a hostile and unconstructive step.
Qalibaf considered in the public session of the Iranian Shura Council today that the adoption of the anti-Iran resolution in the IAEA Board of Governors is an indication of the direct influence of the Zionist circles on the agency, stressing that the decision ignores Iran’s constructive and voluntary cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Qalibaf stressed that this decision indicates that the other side is not serious about reaching a good agreement to abolish the embargo on the Iranian people, expressing his strong support for the technical and legal measures taken by the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran in response to the unjust and unconstructive decision issued by the United States and the European Troika.
Qalibaf also expressed the council's welcome for Russia and China's vote against the resolution, noting that neutralizing the embargo and promoting economic prosperity by relying on local power to improve the living conditions of the Iranian people will be the most important and strongest response to the people's enemies.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian confirmed during a phone call with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres last night that the United States and the European Troika countries submitting a draft resolution to a vote in the International Atomic Energy Agency's board of governors was a hasty and politicized behavior.
