It is a successful conversion, at least for the moment.

In the 18th district of Paris, Aymeric Caron came out on top in the first round of the legislative elections, with 45.05% of the vote.

This first round therefore consecrates the candidacy of the former columnist, anti-species activist who had announced to the Parisian his wish to stand for the New Popular Ecological and Social Union (Nupes).

During the presidential campaign, Aymeric Caron had strongly criticized the candidacy of Éric Zemmour, not hesitating to qualify the far-right candidate as "fascist".

He notably faced this Sunday the outgoing deputy close to Édouard Philippe, Pierre-Yves Bournazel.

In 2017, he snatched the 18th constituency from the left against the socialist minister Myriam El Khomri.

During his legislative campaign, some opponents and even some supporters of Caron criticized an excerpt from a television interview in "C à vous" dating from 2017 in which Aymeric Caron proposed a "permit to vote".

Faced with the bronca, he had clarified to our colleagues from CheckNews that it was “no longer relevant at all”.
