The Teachers' Union continues with sanctions:
Studies in all educational institutions in the Haifa district: in kindergartens, elementary schools and middle schools, will begin tomorrow (Monday) at 10:00.
In the other districts, studies will take place as usual.
In the special education institutions, studies will take place as usual.
At the end of a meeting held today with representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Secretary General of the Teachers' Union, Yaffa Ben-David, announced that "Finance officials did not present a single proposal regarding the salaries of teaching staff.
We can not wait any longer.
We owe our public clear answers - what will be their pay on September 1st.
Finance officials bear full responsibility for the sanctions and the collapse of the education system.
"And the fact that we have not yet received an initial concrete offer from them - is evidence of a tactic of dragging feet that will shatter the entire country inside."
The teachers' union warns that if finance officials do not shift gears in the wage agreement in the coming days, the sanctions will be tightened. "Until now, we have been very patient because the education system is important to us.
At the current pace of things, the Treasury is urging us to tighten sanctions.
"It is very sad that the voices of the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister have not been heard on the matter and they are not pointing a finger for the facts and the teaching staff," said Ben-David.
