Wörthsee – The Senior Citizens' Advisory Board of the municipality of Wörthsee has worked through the checklist of a site visit by the Starnberg District Office with regard to the needs of the senior citizens in the municipality.
Overall, "a great need for the implementation of the proposals mentioned is seen," according to a press release.
The aim is to implement it in small, clear steps.
For this reason, the Senior Citizens' Advisory Board first proposes improving the traffic situation.
Concrete measures are the erection of zebra crossings and appropriate signs to make crossing the Etterschlager or Hauptstrasse and Seestrasse safer.
Seniors' advisory board calls for zebra crossings instead of crossing aids
Contrary to the so-called crossing aids preferred in the municipality, the members of the senior citizens' advisory board and most citizens consider zebra crossings to be more sensible, according to the publication.
Only with these is the priority of pedestrians over vehicles legally clear.
The zebra crossings should be set up in the following places: at the S-Bahn footpath at the former Buchner bakery across the main street, at the "pizza junction" via Etterschlager and Seestraße, at the end of the footpath at the Schiebebergerl on Seestraße, at the crossing aid Maistraße and at the crossing aid at the Edeka car park.
"We are happy to present our ideas to the municipal council in person," says Dr.
Joachim Doeffinger, who takes care of the traffic issue in the Senior Citizens Advisory Council of the municipality of Wörthsee.
