On the occasion of the Syrian Veterinarian’s Day, which falls on the twelfth of June of each year, the Veterinarians Syndicate held a celebration in the Contractors Syndicate hall in Damascus with the participation of a number of specialists.
Head of the Syndicate of Veterinarians, Dr. Iyad Sweidan, praised the efforts of the veterinarian during all circumstances, as he is the unknown soldier who preserves livestock, especially in light of the difficult economic conditions that Syria is going through and climatic changes, praising the local expertise and competencies that worked as much as possible to mitigate the effects of the war on wealth breeders livestock and workers in this sector.
Suwaidan pointed to the existing participatory work with the relevant authorities, such as the Ministry of Agriculture, organizations and unions, and thanked every veterinarian who made every effort to preserve livestock under these circumstances.
The head of the Syndicate of Veterinarians in Damascus branch, Dr. Louay Muhammad, indicated that the celebration of the veterinarian’s day is an occasion to raise awareness about the different aspects of the work carried out by veterinarians and to highlight their work and the efforts they make, stressing the need to contribute to the development of the agricultural sector in the animal sector in partnership with the competent bodies and councils and to make recommendations and suggestions for solving problems related to animal health.
