Six of the affected persons have sought medical attention and do not need to be admitted to hospital. All patients are in stable condition.


11 people were suspected of food poisoning after consuming rhubarb crab and pearl oysters at the Crab Sin Seafood Steamboat on Lung Kong Road, Kowloon City.

The CHP said the cases involved five men and six women, aged between 14 and 70.

They ate at the Kowloon City Crab Immortal Seafood Steamboat on June 3 and developed abdominal pain, fever, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea about four to 42 hours after eating rhubarb crab or pearl oyster.

Six of the affected persons have sought medical attention and do not require hospitalization. All patients are in stable condition.

The CFS urges the public to maintain personal, food and environmental hygiene to prevent food-borne diseases.

When eating out, avoid eating raw seafood and choose cold dishes carefully, including sashimi, sushi and oysters from buffets.

When eating hot pot or barbecue, you should ensure that the food is thoroughly cooked before eating; during the cooking process, you should also carefully handle and separate raw and cooked food thoroughly, and use two sets of chopsticks to handle raw and cooked food separately.
