Li Liye, the chief administrative manager of the Hospital Authority, pointed out that one of the nurses who was diagnosed had symptoms yesterday (12th) and was found to be positive for the virus after testing. At present, 23 hospital staff who attended the same gathering are listed as close contacts and need to be quarantined.
Li Liye pointed out that the three nurses who were diagnosed were mainly responsible for outreach work, so clinical services were not affected, and no patients were listed as close contacts.
The HA reiterates that medical staff should avoid attending gatherings, avoid talking even if participating in gatherings, wear masks as soon as possible after meals, maintain social distance, and observe infection control regulations.
