Contacts for unification between the right and a new hope Israel today

2022-06-13T19:38:40.077Z

The smell of elections in the air • Against the background of poll data, party officials have been discussing the possibility of running together in recent days. • Right-wing source: An alternative right-wing government

Preparing for the election?

Along with his recent attempts to "fight for the government," as he said in his speech yesterday (Sunday) in the Knesset, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett is also preparing for a scenario in which the government will reach the end of its path.

Recently, due to the poor condition of the parties in the polls and the uncertainty about the possibility of passing the blocking percentage, talks have begun between senior officials on the right and with new hope for examining the unification of the lists in case of going to the polls.

A senior source familiar with the details of the talks said most of the difficulty in progress so far has stemmed from much suspicion among party leaders and the fact that the unification of joint running lists stems from a political constraint and common interest to pass the ballot test successfully, rather than trust or friendship between the two.

"When Bennett consults with his people about this possibility, he expresses considerable reluctance to cover his political future with that of Saar. He is not even sure that Saar will help him keep the transitional prime minister in case of dissolution of the Knesset. "This is so as not to lock up the possibility that he, Saar, will be at the head of the united list, something that will certainly not happen if Bennett remains prime minister."

The source also said that Bennett is still angry with Saar and blames him for the recent crisis in the coalition over the failure to approve the Judea and Samaria regulations. Opportunity to reach an exit in front of the opposition and in front of Idit Silman, who understood that a possibility had been opened to undermine the coalition's stability in voting against the regulations.

Orbach is in favor of a right-wing government

After days of deliberation and a marathon of meetings with Prime Minister Bennett, MK Nir Orbach announced yesterday that he is resigning from the coalition.

According to estimates in the political system, Auerbach's primary goal is to try to form a right-wing government in the current Knesset, but if this move fails he will work to dissolve the Knesset, from the position of chairman of the Knesset committee - which will allow him to control the schedule.

As you may recall, Auerbach debated badly over the past week, postponing his decision until yesterday.

It should be noted that Auerbach does not condition his return to the coalition with the approval of the Judea and Samaria Regulations.

Already at the beginning of the talks with Bennett, some of which were difficult and charged, Auerbach said he wanted to retire from the coalition and in this situation he is unable to continue.

But even in his announcement now, Orbach is giving Bennett another week to stabilize the coalition, and in the meantime will not vote to dissolve the Knesset.

"Israel Today" has learned that even if Ghanaim and Zoabi resign, it will not be enough for Orbach, he is not ready for a 60-60 coalition.

For him it means that such a coalition rests on the common list.

Orbach's goal is to try to form a right-wing government in the current Knesset.

If that does not work, he will vote to dissolve the Knesset, while controlling the schedule as chairman of the Knesset committee.

Now, the coalition will try to get rid of Ganaim and Zoabi, to try to bring back Orbach.

It is estimated that Ghanaians are closer to resigning from Zoabi.

Sources on the right claim that Auerbach will give the move more than a week, but those around him say that it is one last week.
