The meeting of Minister of Industry Ziad Sobhi Sabbagh with the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce this evening focused on unifying efforts and cooperation between the Ministry of Industry and the Federation to secure the requirements of industrial production, enhance partnership between the public and private sectors, and find appropriate solutions for commercial work in a way that enhances the national economy.
The Minister of Industry confirmed that the priorities of the ministry’s work are focused on supporting the industrial sector, both public and private, in a way that secures the needs of local markets and develops export industries, due to its importance in improving the reality of market prices and providing foreign exchange, noting that work at the present time focuses on unifying the views of all Economic sectors Industry, commerce and agriculture, which helps the government to take decisions in the interest of all.
The head of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, Muhammad Abu Al-Huda Al-Lahham, stressed the need to collectively go to all Syrian economic forces to support and revitalize agriculture, because it is the only current resource in light of the economic war we are going through.
For his part, Secretary of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce Waseem al-Qattan stressed that the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce with collective national action and unions are a auxiliary for the government and its roles must be put on the right track in order to work together to advance the Syrian economy.
Al-Qattan indicated the willingness of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce to enter the field of operating factories and companies suspended in the Ministry of Industry, which were proposed for participation.
At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to provide the Ministry of Industry with a vision by the Federation of Chambers of Commerce for mutual support between the industry and trade sectors and to follow up on joint meetings periodically to put the common vision into action in successive steps.
