The G7 summit at Schloss Elmau in Bavaria is approaching.

In Munich, opponents of the summit move in front of the Siemens headquarters.

Munich - Around 20 activists expressed their criticism of the policies of the G7 countries on June 12 in Munich with actions in front of the Siemens headquarters, among other places.

"Democratize the economy - expropriate Siemens & Co" was read on banners.

The G7 countries are most responsible for the destruction of the environment and climate worldwide.

"In the past and present, your corporations have exploited and burned oil, natural gas and coal all over the world and thus maximized their profits," said one of the activists, Micha Jäger.

That means drought, hunger, flight and death for those people who contribute least to it.

Before the G7 summit in Elmau: Federal police start border controls

Almost two weeks before the G7 summit at Schloss Elmau in Bavaria, temporary controls have now begun at all German borders with neighboring countries.

According to the Federal Ministry of the Interior, the reason is increased security requirements around the summit.

The officials tried to keep the restrictions as low as possible, said a federal police spokesman.

The measures should contribute to the safety of the population, but also to the peaceful course of the planned demonstrations.

The arrival of possible violent criminals from abroad should be prevented.

The border controls would be carried out flexibly in terms of time and location until July 3, depending on the situation.

Checks are not only made on the roads, but also on trains and on hiking trails.

"We ask travelers to have their documents ready to hand for quick processing."

The G7 summit is from June 26th to 28th at Schloss Elmau.

There are said to be several counter-demonstrations with thousands of participants.

Around 18,000 police officers are on duty at the meeting of the heads of state and government of the seven most important industrial nations.
