Stadtwerke Fürstenfeldbruck are increasing electricity prices.
At the same time, the EEG levy is eliminated.
Fürstenfeldbruck - "The tense global economic situation is leading to price increases in the energy sector," says a statement from the municipal utility on Monday afternoon.
Stadtwerke Fürstenfeldbruck would have to react to this development and the persistently high demand for energy with a price adjustment as of August 1, 2022 - like other energy suppliers.
But: The elimination of the EEG surcharge will reduce the costs.
"Fortunately, on July 1, 2022, the state levy to promote the expansion of renewable energies (EEG) will be suspended for the time being.
The working price for electricity falls by 3.723 ct/kWh net (4.43 ct/kWh gross),” explains Andreas Wohlmann, Head of Sales at Stadtwerke .
"We pass this price advantage on to our customers."
Stadtwerke Fürstenfeldbruck: Ukraine war drives up energy prices
The prices for energy such as gas, oil and electricity had already risen sharply in the third quarter of 2021.
In addition, the Ukraine war and a possible energy embargo are burdening the markets, according to the municipal utility.

“Despite our long-term, forward-looking purchasing strategy, political conflicts and high demand are having an impact on our procurement costs.
Therefore, we cannot maintain the current price level for electricity," Wohlmann is quoted as saying.
"As a result, we will unfortunately increase the energy price for our electricity tariffs by 2.46 ct/kWh net (2.93 ct/kWh gross) on August 1, 2022.
The basic price remains unchanged,” adds Wohlmann.
“The bottom line is that our customers have a price advantage of 1.263 ct/kWh net (1.5 ct/kWh gross).”
Stadtwerke Fürstenfeldbruck: Letters to customers
In the next few days, all electricity customers of Stadtwerke Fürstenfeldbruck should receive a letter.
The utility company will inform you about the changes.
If desired, each customer can report their inter-annual meter readings by phone, QR code or online.
Otherwise, the meter reading is calculated and delimited on the basis of previous consumption.
Stadtwerke Fürstenfeldbruck: warning of calls
At the same time, the company warns against dubious callers who are currently making dubious price offers over the phone in the service area.
In most cases, the caller from a dubious energy provider pretends to be a public utility employee and tries to sign new electricity contracts by making false statements about tariffs.
The Stadtwerke warn against this practice.
“We advise increased attention.
Because we, as a local municipal utility, do not make any telephone calls - this is prohibited by law," says Wohlmann.
“Furthermore, the person called should check the price offer carefully.
As a local company, we provide our customers with current market prices.
On the other hand, the advertised electricity prices or bonuses only serve to attract customers and the customer ultimately receives worse conditions than with the previous provider.
