As part of the fight against organized crime, the Prison Service (IPS) today (Monday) carried out raids on security prisons across the country.
Among other things, about 10 mobile phone heads, over 400 SIM cards, improvised chargers for mobile phones, improvised weapons and other means prohibited from possession were seized by the force at Ramon Prison.
In addition, detectives from the Dror faction of the IPS seized four more mobile phone heads in the Sheta and Ofer prisons.
Security forces fear the smuggling of cell phones into prisons because it could allow criminal and terrorist activity to be directed out of the prison walls.
