Legislative: with 1.51%, the Animalist Party is doing better than in 2017 and will benefit from public funding

They had invested a record number of candidates for the legislative elections: 421, against 147 in 2017. The animalist party announced that it had won 1.51% of the vote, or 255,086 votes, during the first round on Sunday June 12.

This is significantly better than in 2017, when the very young formation (created in 2016) had collected 63,637 ballots (0.28%).

But well below their performance in the 2019 European elections where they managed to seduce nearly 500,000 voters (2.16% of the vote), ahead of Florian Philippot's Patriots and almost on par with the Communists...

Not enough, however, to undermine the morale of animalists who prefer to point to their good results in five constituencies (Pas-de-Calais, Oise, and three northern constituencies) where their candidates exceed 3%.

Despite a voting method that is not favorable to us, you are 255,000 who voted for the Animalist Party in the #legislative, or 1.51%.

This is a strong message sent to the political class!

A big thank you to everyone for your mobilization!

The fight goes on !

“Seeing finally change the fate of animals”

It is also true that for these animal defenders, who have also succeeded in imposing themselves in the political landscape thanks to their posters representing cats, dogs or, for these legislative elections, a duckling, the objective was clearly not to a strong entry into the Assembly.

But indeed to continue to sensitize the public to the animal cause.

"The candidates for the second round, but also the future deputies and members of the next government have no other choice but to take into account these thousands of voters who have demonstrated so clearly to finally see the fate of animals changed", rejoices Hélène Thouy, the lawyer co-president of the movement.

Consult the results of the legislative elections, constituency by constituency.

Follow the results in particular in Paris, Marseille or Lyon.

As well as the results in the districts of Hauts-de-Seine, Val-de-Marne, Seine-Saint-Denis, Val-d'Oise, Essonne, Seine-et-Marne, Yvelines and in Oise.

Another reason for satisfaction and not the least for this small party: by exceeding 1% of the votes in 369 constituencies, the animalists are sure to benefit from public funding for the next five years.

A political party having obtained at least 1% of the votes in 50 constituencies earns 1.64 euros per vote cast in its favor and per year.
