Russian Ambassador to the Philippines Marat Pavlov announced Russia's readiness to improve the traditional friendly relations between his country and the Philippines in many areas of cooperation, especially the field of energy.
Tass news agency quoted Pavlov as saying after his meeting with Philippine President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Junio: The Philippine president told him that he will continue his independent policy and will cooperate with the Russian Federation in several areas, including the energy sector.
Last March, Marcos called for a peaceful solution to the situation in Ukraine.
