Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that the request of the Donetsk Republic for its support of additional forces had been referred to the Russian Ministry of Defense, reiterating that the main objective of the special military operation in Ukraine is to protect the Donbass region.
Peskov said in a statement to the Russian RIA Novosti news agency: The request of the President of the Donetsk Republic, Denis Pushlin, from Moscow to support additional forces against the backdrop of Kyiv's escalation and targeting of civilians, has been referred to the Russian Defense Ministry.
Donetsk demanded earlier today, Russia, to send additional forces to the republic after the escalation from the Ukrainian side through the use of internationally prohibited weapons, which targeted a popular market that led to the death of a number of civilians.
