Documentation of a man crushed to death by an elephant sitting on it (Indiatimes News)
In the video - additional documentation from India of a man crushed to death by an elephant sitting on it
An elderly woman was trampled to death by an angry elephant - when the animal for some reason came back later to drag her away from the fire where she was burned just to trample her body a little more.
According to reports from Udisha in eastern India, 70-year-old Maya Murmo was drawing water from a well in the village of Rafel when an escaped elephant appeared out of nowhere, vented his anger on her and several times she was rushed to hospital but died there from her wounds.
The elephant apparently escaped from the Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary in Jharkhand, which is about 200 kilometers from where the brutal attack took place.
In a particularly cruel twist, the raging elephant returned afterwards and continued to abuse her body.
According to local media reports, as her family gathered for the funeral and were in the midst of recent ceremonies, the same elephant reappeared, lifted her body from the funeral bonfire and trampled her again, while the mourners stood stunned and staring in horror, Press Trust of India reports.
The family was forced to end the ceremony only after the elephant left the place.
It is still unclear if the animal hit anyone else.

Independent reports that elephant-human incidents are a common phenomenon in Odisha, where intensive industrial activity in a mineral-rich country has increased human invasion of animal habitats, and increased the chances of encounters between residents and elephants.
Another alarming trend in the country has been the surge in the number of unnatural deaths of elephants.
At least 1,356 elephants have died in Odisha since 2000-01, according to data provided by the state's chief wildlife director, the IANS news agency reported.
At least 42 elephant deaths were recorded in the country in just seven months from April to October last year.
About 100 people are killed each year in India by elephants, although the number can sometimes reach up to 300, according to the World Wildlife Fund.
The Indian government is trying to limit human encounters with potentially deadly elephants by tagging the animals using a collar that transmits radio signals and alerting locals via text messages as the animals roam the populated areas.
