In the context of efforts to restore brilliance to the youth theater, the theater groups Elissar and Ugarit presented today the dance theatrical work (Dream) under the supervision of the branch of the Revolutionary Youth Union in Latakia, on the stage of Dar al-Assad for Culture.

The theatrical work presented suggestive dance panels that embody the dialectic of death and life and the dreams between them, embodying a saying of death that generates life in a clear call to broadcast the dream within each person.

The show's author and director, Nidal Udeira, explained to SANA reporter that there is a change in the concept of dance works, as the actors and dancers are one unit in harmony on the stage.

He pointed out that the work talks about a dead cemetery guard who used to visit his daughter to his grave every day, and one day she was late in visiting, so he dreamed that he came back to life for five minutes, so that the work indicates the importance of visiting the dead we love, because in every grave there is a story, a lesson and a story that we learn from.

Oqba Wakeel, who also participated in directing, pointed to the connection process between the dancing actor and the lighting on the stage and the harmony between the two groups, indicating that the idea of the work is based on the fact that there are many dead people who are alive among us with their thoughts, and there are many living dead who are only moving bodies.

The actor Fouad Wakil, who embodied the main character in the work, is the cemetery guard who comes back to life for five minutes. He explained that everyone may live a certain death, and there are dead people in the cemeteries summarizing life lessons. We must learn from them and take wisdom from them. When the dream escapes, everything dies for that. We must dream of a better life and reality.

In turn, Nour Al-Faisal, who embodied the role of the daughter of the cemetery guard, represented by the Elissar theater group, indicated that the work embodies dancer dialogues that express work such as the love dance, the drums dance and the “life is death” dance, while the actor Haider Essam Taha embodied the role of the martyr with its sanctity, and if he is absent in body, but his soul The pure remains immortal.

Somar Daher, head of the Revolutionary Youth Union, explained the importance of theatrical work, stressing the sanctity of the martyrs and the sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army, as they are the beacons of hope that chart the future and hope for Syria. The ceremony included honoring the families of a number of martyrs.
