At the annual meeting of the CSU Au-Abens, ex-mayor Karl Ecker was sharply criticized - and an appeal was sent in the direction of "traffic lights in Berlin".

Au/Hallertau

– The CSU result in the 2021 federal election was “catastrophic” in the eyes of Stefan Baur.

The result that the CSU Au-Abens achieved in the 2020 local elections was "decent", according to the local chairman at the annual general meeting on Monday.

And even if their own top candidate was not able to force a run-off election, the cooperation with the new local boss Hans Sailer (FW) is incomparably better than with his predecessor, said Mayor Martin Linseisen, describing the mood in the municipal council.

“Bad level” complained

Yes, according to Linseisen in his report on local politics in the Gasthaus Straßberger, there is some “banter” in the municipal council.

But that is far from the "bad level" that sometimes prevailed under Sailer's predecessor Karl Ecker.

The cooperation with Sailer takes place on an equal footing, praised Linseisen.

Sailer just does his job – and he has a lot to work through that was neglected under his predecessor for a good two decades.

It starts with the fact that there are now more employees in the town hall, which was not possible under Ecker and his “not only misunderstood austerity, but even miserliness policy”.

The report by the chairman in the local general assembly was brief after a two-year Corona break: All events in 2020 and 2021 were canceled, politically the European, local and federal elections fell during this time - with varying success.

The report by treasurer Florian Schwaiger was also brief: 2021 was closed after income of 4750 euros and expenses of 4250 euros with a plus of 500 euros, the cash position had increased to 3890 euros.

Florian Herrmann directs an appeal towards “traffic lights in Berlin”

There were only minor changes on the board of the Au-Abens local association, which currently has 55 members: Stefan Baur remains local chairman, his three deputies are Martin Linseisen, Bernhard Wernthaler and – new in office – Frank Chabrié.

Florian Schwaiger was again elected treasurer, the new secretary is Robert Boos.

The assessors are Hildegard Heindl, Martin Hellerbrand, Simon Reddig and Lucia Schmidmair-Kaindl.

And then there were honors - including for five members who have been loyal to the CSU for 50 years: Josef Straßberger, Stefan Stanglmair, Vitus Schuster, Karlheinz Lechner and Josef Schmid.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

The evening began with a speech by the district chairman and state minister Florian Herrmann: After more than two years of corona measures, he summed up that “what we did was not fundamentally wrong”.

Now, so he appealed to the “traffic light in Berlin”, one must use the time to be prepared for possible developments in autumn and winter – even if the war in Ukraine and its consequences for Germany are also overshadowing many things.
