The fans of the city of Aleppo celebrated this evening in Al-Hamdaniya Hall, the victory of the Al-Ittihad team, Al-Ahly of Aleppo, in the men’s basketball league title.
Al-Ahly Aleppo team officially won the Basketball League title for the current season, after defeating Al-Karamah three times in a row in the series of the final round of the championship, the last of which was yesterday at Ghazwan Abu Zaid Hall in Homs.
In a statement to SANA, the club’s president, Rasan Martini, said: “This joy is an achievement for the city of Aleppo, and in the final round matches, we were able to break records in playing and public attendance, and we are still working hard to get the club back to the podiums.”
The club’s game supervisor, Firas Al-Masry, confirmed that administrative stability was the important factor for the success of the first basketball team, pointing out that the team had greatly fulfilled the ambition of all the fans thirsting for the return of the club’s league title after more than fifteen years, which the team’s management worked on and succeeded in regaining the title.
Many Al-Ahly Aleppo players expressed their happiness at winning the league title, which translated all the training they received from their coach, Fouad Abu Shakra, during the last period, pointing out that they will continue training to participate in more upcoming tournaments and win new titles in the Super Cup and Asia.
A number of fans expressed their happiness at the return of the title to the club's coffers, expressing their pride and pride in the basketball team, explaining that they will not spare their support throughout the season and will remain behind and support it in all matches.
The ceremony, which was organized by the club’s management, included dances from the Aleppo heritage, lyrical paragraphs, and Halabid Qadud, in the presence of the Governor of Aleppo, Hussein Diab, the Secretary of the Arab Socialist Baath Party branch, Ahmed Mansour, and a number of official and popular figures.
It is noteworthy that Al-Ittihad Ahli Aleppo Club was founded on January 20, 1949 and won many titles in many games, especially basketball, where it was crowned with the League Championship 20 times, the Republic Cup nine times, the Arab Championship once in 1991 and the Syrian Super Cup in its version The first is 2021, in addition to many local and foreign titles in basketball.
