The former chief of staff is backed by parties from the soft right, through the center to the left • Izenkot will want to bring more people with him to an existing party • Bish Atid wants him in their ranks in a senior position, but will not want "party within party" checks Elections, when there is something to update, we will update "

Against the background of the Knesset election atmosphere, the hot name that comes up in the political system is Gadi Izenkot.

The former chief of staff, who does not have a clear political identity, is being returned by many parties, from the soft right through the center to the left. Significantly, he believes that after a long and significant service for the security of the state, the next place to influence the State of Israel is the political echelon.

Among the parties that would like to see Izenkot in their ranks are mainly Yesh Atid, Blue and White and also the Labor Party.

Although officially the parties say there are no negotiations, sources in the political system say that the main behind-the-scenes battle over Izenkot's recruitment is taking place between blue and white and there is a future.

Izenkot does not want to form a new party, but any party that chooses to join will want to bring a few more people with it so that it can influence the party mechanisms from within and change the things that are important to it.

Sources in the left-wing bloc from the coalition tell Israel Today: "The battle between blue and white and there is a future for Izenkot will decide who will lead the bloc in the next election campaign. If Izenkot brings three more people with him, he will actually be able to maintain independence "MKs split from an existing party even if they are not a third of a faction."

As mentioned, Bish Atid would like to see figures like Izenkot in politics, and would also like him to join their ranks, instead of a senior, some say even as number 2. However, Bish Atid is still scarred by the United White Brush, and the understanding is that Izenkot can join Yesh Atid as a senior figure. But the party will probably not want him to bring with him a separate political force and checks a kind of party within a party.

Joining Blue and White: The Pros and Cons

At the same time, Izenkot's joining blue and white has advantages and disadvantages for both parties.

It is estimated that Gantz will agree to be more flexible with Izenkot who will want to bring more people with him.

Also, between the two there is a long-term relationship and ground for working together.

On the other hand, Izenkot will not be unique in blue and white compared to Bnei Gantz, as these are two former chiefs of staff with a similar professional past.

In addition, the Labor Party would also like to see Izenkot in their ranks, as Michaeli is trying to rebuild Labor into a leading political force in the center-left camp.

The blue and white parties and Labor say in response that there are no elections and they are concerned with maintaining the government and the coalition.

Mish Atid said: "Gadi Izenkot is an excellent man and it is important that people like him join politics. When there is something to update, we will update. There are no elections, there is an excellent government that works."
