The climate activists from “Last Generation” are asking for donations for overnight accommodation in Berlin on social media.

The reactions are sometimes clear.

Berlin – Climate activists don't exactly have the best standing with motorists. In view of the long traffic jams caused by groups like "Insulate Britian" or "Save Food, Save Lives", this is hardly surprising.

And even the "last generation" keeps getting stuck on the autobahn, as was recently the case near Munich.

The group now needs financial support for an action in Berlin and has shared an appeal for donations on social media.

"Your support is needed to finance accommodation in Berlin from June 18," says the post by the climate activists "Last Generation".

An overnight stay on a campsite costs 15 euros per person and 75 euros for five people.

However, the "last generation" might have imagined the reactions to the call for donations to be somewhat different.

The negative comments clearly outweigh the negative ones on both Facebook and Instagram.

"Do I understand this in the right manner?

You want to raise money to house people who want to commit crimes?

You can't support something like that," writes one user, for example.

However, some Facebook users have more or less helpful tips in store: "Ask Mama!" Alternative accommodations such as the "JVA Tegel" or the "Bahnhof Zoo" are also suggested under the posts.

Another user also has advice for the "last generation": "Go to work!"

But there is also factual criticism of the actions of the climate activists.

"You know that you are blocking access routes for rescue equipment and accepting that human lives are endangered?" A user wants to know.

Support is rarely found in the comment columns.

However, one user emphasized that she wanted to donate and wrote: "Just ignore the weirdos here in the comments, some just need a few years longer until they get it.

And then Mimimi.”

Even if the comments don't suggest it, the climate activists' fundraiser is relatively successful.

Since June 1, the "last generation" has already collected 1,545 euros (as of June 14).

Thus, the overnight stay for 103 people could be financed.
