New Hope Against the Likud and Shas: On the Target - Databases on Voters | Israel Today

2022-06-14T20:50:52.098Z

Fear of elections brings the right in the coalition to try to curb the power of the opposition parties • In a new hope seek to expand the law in a way that will make it difficult for holders of these databases

The New Hope faction is preparing the ground for the battles of the election campaign, even though the government has not yet disbanded.

The party intends to raise a bill today that is intended to make it harder for those who hold the databases in the Likud and Shas. These are the highest-quality voter databases in the political system - which are not in this order of magnitude in their hands.

This is a proposal by MK Michal Shir, who recently launched a campaign against the Likud both in the plenum and on social media. It was joined by MKs Zvi Hauser and Benny Begin.

Thus, for example, the people of New Hope seek to determine that every five years the information will be deleted from the database, if a person has not re-authorized its use.

Also, the person who owns the database will have to contact the person about whom the information is, explain to him what use he will make of it, and ask for permission to use it.

Otherwise, it will be considered an invasion of his privacy.

In addition, a new hope is sought that the person holding the information will have to inform the person of the period during which he will hold the information, and will inform him that he has the right to request the deletion of the information, including details of the course of action.

Consider dissolving the Knesset

The center-left bloc also has a feature and organization for their own political moves.

Gush senior officials estimate that the current government has ended its path.

Their fear is of the formation of a right-wing government in the current Knesset without the left-wing parties.

It is estimated that Auerbach aspires to form a government with the Likud and may persuade Bennett to take such a move.

Another concern is that Defense Minister Bnei Gantz may also join the right-wing bloc and leave Yesh Atid, Labor and Meretz behind.

Therefore, the possibility of supporting the dissolution of the current Knesset is being considered.

"It is quite clear that the government has ended its way in the current way," said a source in the bloc.
