The first digital corona vaccination certificates are no longer valid.

Why is it and what you have to do to be able to travel in the summer of 2022 without any worries.

Munich – Anyone who is vaccinated against the corona virus can load a digital vaccination certificate onto their smartphone.

However, this proof has an expiry date: the first vaccination certificates will soon lose their validity.

Especially with a view to the travel season and the summer vacation 2022, this leads to uncertainty among many.

The message that pops up in the CovPass app for some vaccinated people - "Your vaccination certificate will expire soon" - has technical reasons.

As the Robert Koch Institute states, the certificates automatically lose their validity after 365 days.

Anyone who was vaccinated early last year will soon have to take care of a new certificate.

The app notifies users 28 days in advance when the digital vaccination certificate is about to expire.

Corona vaccination certificates are expiring: you have to consider that now

Of course, just because the vaccination certificate in the app is no longer valid does not mean that you have to get the next injection immediately.

It is sufficient to update the certificate on the smartphone.

You can update your device yourself.

To do this, the CoVPass app must first be updated in the App Store.

Once the update has been downloaded to your cell phone, you can have the certificate reissued in the app.

The old certificate will then appear as invalid in the CovPass app and you can remove it.

Care should be taken not to delete the new proof.

Not all vaccinated are affected: Evidence for boosted is longer

Incidentally, the notification to update the vaccination certificate does not affect everyone who has been vaccinated against the corona virus.

It appears only in people who have not yet received a booster vaccination.

Then the deposited evidence corresponds only to vaccination number 1/2.

However, the current EU regulations have required the number 2/2 to be entered in the CoVPass app since February 1, 2022.

After 270 days, individuals without a booster dose are considered unvaccinated.

A missing vaccination certificate can certainly spoil the travel mood for holidaymakers.

Almost all corona restrictions have been lifted in the popular travel countries of Germans at the moment.

Since the incidences in some holiday countries are already increasing again, this can change quickly.

It is therefore not wrong to have proof of the vaccination status with you.

You should read about the travel restrictions that apply in the respective country shortly before departure on the website of the Federal Foreign Office.
