Nicolas Maduro was greeted at Doha International Airport by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, according to footage of his arrival broadcast by QNA.
The Venezuelan leader, on tour in the Middle East, will stay two days in Qatar, according to diplomatic sources.
Nicolas Maduro visited Iran this weekend where he signed a 20-year cooperation agreement with Iranian leaders to strengthen their alliance against the United States, their common adversary.
Previously, Nicolas Maduro visited Kuwait, Algeria and Turkey.
Iran and Venezuela, two oil-producing countries that are members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), are also both subject to American sanctions.
Qatar is a major ally of the United States.
But in 2014, Nicolas Maduro said Qatari banks were helping his country with big loans as Venezuela's oil-dependent economy was in freefall.
