A 9-year-old boy was bitten by a pit bull dog as he walked down the street with his brother to a shawarma stand in Kfar Yarka.

The brothers passed an explosion, where the dog’s owner, Abu Daula, was sitting, with his dog held in an iron chain next to him.

According to the indictment filed against him, Doula, a 32-year-old resident of the settlement, was holding the dog unvaccinated, unmarked and without a license as required for a pit bull dog.

The boy was attacked by the dog as he passed by.

"He is almost dead," police said in a court hearing.

The case file shows the dog biting the child, attacking him and dragging him towards the road while injuring him.

The boy's brother, frightened by the attack, turned around and fled the scene.

Finally, with the intervention of another person who assisted in rescuing the child from the dog's jaws, the dog owner was able to pull him back and bring the dog into his home.

Hian's medical team was called to the scene and evacuated the boy to the Galilee Medical Center in fair condition.

He was transferred to the operating room and hospitalized for five days in the pediatric surgery ward.

"The results are tragic and have dire consequences for his life, mental state and functioning," the prosecution told the court.
