After several months in which Israelis who wanted to go to Sinai had to stand in long lines, which sometimes lasted even long hours under the scorching sun of Eilat, it was decided to open the Taba crossing 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The decision will not take effect immediately, but only on July 3rd.
This means that if you have to cross the border into Egypt by that date, you may have to wait in long lines.

The reason for the heavy loads at the border crossing was that it was open for only 12 hours a day, from 08:00 to 20:00.
Many vacationers and surfers in the various groups of travelers in Sinai protested against the limited opening of the Taba crossing, which probably contributed to the change for the better of the dire situation.
As you may recall, during the Pentecost, on June 7-1, the Taba Pass was open 24/7.
It is estimated that tens of thousands of people took advantage of the vacation days to cross the border into Egypt.
