Today, after many years of stopping sports activity in Al-Daliba Club, there are serious attempts to reactivate the sports of athletics and football because they are the most interested, follow-up and active by the people of the town, according to the statement of the current manager of the club, “Imad Diop” to SANA reporter, where Diop indicated that the club’s ambitions It will not stop reviving these two games only, but will also activate other games such as boxing due to the presence of many promising talents in addition to the presence of a good coach in the game.
Diop pointed out that Al-Daliba Club, which was founded in 1990, has its own football field of 15 acres, which is one of the largest in the Masyaf area.
Diop pointed out that the sports activity in Al-Daliba Club has been suspended for several years for several reasons, the most prominent of which is the poor financial capabilities, as there are no special investments in it, which hinders training and attracting coaches and players, and there is no sports equipment for athletics and football. Despite that, there are 120 requests Club affiliation.
In turn, Haitham Salman from the club's cadres pointed out that the club recently hosted a friendly football tournament in which 24 teams from the governorates of Hama, Homs and Tartous participated, which had a large audience from the townspeople, explaining that there are serious attempts to form three teams for age groups that support football in the club and be the nucleus for forming a men's team In the future, he will participate in local tournaments.
Salman explained that Al-Daliba Club had clear imprints in athletics in the period between 1993 and 1996, as its players managed to achieve 30 advanced positions in the governorate’s championships. With athletic equipment for athletics, he will have a positive role in activating this game and bringing it back to life in the coming years.
