Russia's permanent representative to the European Union, Vladimir Chizhov, announced that the regime forces in Kyiv have a strong desire to open a military front in the unilaterally declared Republic of Transnistria, warning of the danger of this development of military events.
Russia Today quoted Chizhov as saying on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum about the possibility of a situation in which Russia will have to defend Transnistria, "Many people in the first place in Kyiv really want to open the Transnistrian front, and there is a lot that motivates us to defend this republic."
Earlier today, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova confirmed that the West bears the responsibility for inflaming the situation in Ukraine by continuing to supply it with weapons, reiterating that the Russian special military operation to protect Donbass will continue until its full goals are achieved.
