Today, Damascus University signed two scientific cooperation agreements, the first with Saint Petersburg State Electrotechnical University and the second with the Southern Polytechnic State University of the Russian Federation.
The two agreements aim to develop scientific, academic and research cooperation between Damascus University and the two Russian universities, and were signed within the framework of the fourth Syrian-Russian joint meeting to follow up on the international conference on the return of Syrian refugees and displaced persons.
According to the first agreement signed by the President of the University, Dr. Muhammad Osama Al-Jabban, and the supervisor of the International Student Office at Saint Petersburg Yalyshev Rinat Amirulovich University, the two sides will cooperate in implementing joint educational programs and exchange visits by faculty, administrators, students and graduates for scientific training in various fields.
The agreement also includes holding seminars and consultations on education issues, implementing joint scientific projects and conferences, developing international cultural relations, and exchanging publications and periodicals.
The second agreement, signed by Dr. Al-Jaban and the Director of Polytechnic University, Dr. Yuri Razurinov, included, in addition to the student exchange, providing assistance to improve the educational qualifications of faculty members in the two universities, developing teaching techniques, organizing joint seminars and conferences, and appointing coordinators from both sides to develop the annual activities plan.
