Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAD) and the government's top adviser against the coronavirus pandemic, tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday.
Fauci is fully vaccinated and has received two booster doses.
He currently has only mild symptoms and is in isolation.
He has not been in close contact with President Joe Biden, the NIAD reported.

Fauci, 81, will continue to work from home and, following the protocols recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), will not report to his office until he tests negative for COVID-19. .
