The district association of the ADFC has a new board.

He goes on the offensive and calls for the expansion of the cycle path network in the district.

Wolfratshausen

– From June 16, citizens of the Free State have the opportunity to put pressure on the government's transport policy with a signature.

A referendum is intended to accelerate the expansion of cycle lanes and other bicycle-friendly measures.

An alliance to which the General German Bicycle Club (ADFC), the Federation of Nature Conservation as well as the Greens, SPD, ÖDP and Left Party belong has called for this.

The fact that there is also a need for action in the district was shown at the annual meeting of the ADFC district association in the Athos restaurant on Untermarkt.

"It is necessary that car traffic is reduced and more is done for pedestrians and cyclists," explained Birgit Sachers.

The board spokeswoman reported that discussions with city councillors, mobility officers and the head of the building department, Rainer Goldstein, took place in Geretsried in particular.

After all, the largest city in the district is aiming to join the Working Group for Cycle-Friendly Municipalities (AGFK).

According to ADFC district board member Josefine Hopfes, the results of these efforts are still “manageable”.

In contrast, there were successes in Wolfratshausen.

There, the former head of the building authority and bicycle officer Susanne Leonhard was able to push through the construction of a modern parking facility at the S-Bahn station before she retired, which should be completed soon.

ADFC member Werner Grimmeiß regretted all the more that there is currently no mobility officer in Loisachstadt.

Mechthild Felsch reported on "tough negotiations" in Münsing.

Covered bike racks in the village center could not yet be enforced there for cost reasons.

According to Gerhard Krapp, there is still a lot to do in Bad Tölz.

Since Mayor Ingo Mehner himself travels a lot by bike, a lot can still be expected.

In the coming months, the ADFC district association not only wants to promote the referendum.

A strong participation in city cycling in the respective communities is also planned, as well as support for the "Kidical Mass" bicycle demo in Wolfratshausen in September.

In addition, Birgit Sachers and Claudia Redeker continue the driver safety training sessions in Geretsried, Tölz, Wolfratshausen and Münsing.

Bike tours, GPS courses, technology days and campaigns in the Geretsried hands-on workshop "Nail and Thread" round off the commitment.

After the final elections, Birgit Sachers, Josefine Hopfes, Claudia Redeker, Werner Grimmeiß, Gerhard Krapp and Bernd Sachers accepted their positions on the board.

Unlike other clubs, there is no strict separation of duties at the ADFC district association.

"We are all a board team," explained Birgit Sachers.
