Walter Hipper and Rita Rott were appointed honorary chairmen of the Buch-Reithofen association for horticulture and village beautification.

Buch am Buchrain

– for 28 years, Walter Hipper and Rita Rott jointly managed the Buch-Reithofen association for horticulture and village beautification.

Now both have been appointed Honorary Presidents at the Annual General Meeting.

Hipper and Rott had already resigned in the 2019 election.

Her successors had planned the honors for a long time, but then Corona intervened.

In order to properly appreciate the achievements of their predecessors, there was a wait to be able to carry out the awards in the appropriate setting, said Chairman Georg Stockl.

The well-attended annual general meeting in the parish hall offered this framework.

Walter Hipper from Buch took over the management of the club from his father August in 1991.

"You really brought the club up and made it what it is today," said Stockl.

For him personally, Hipper was his “foster father” when it came to trees.

At some point, however, Stockl admitted that he couldn't know as many tree species and apple varieties as his 82-year-old predecessor.

Hipper's consistent deputy, Rita Rott, was also appointed Honorary Chair.

For 21 years, the 75-year-old from Harthofen has been the figurehead for the holiday program and children's handicrafts, which she wants to continue to organize.

In 2021, for example, lanterns were created using serviette technology.

Rott received a lot of applause for her creative commitment.

Stockl announced that the honorary chairmen would no longer have to pay membership fees.

Rott replied: "Then I'll donate it again." She also coordinated the sale of potting soil to the members for a long time.

15 pallets were last needed.

Rott would like to hand over this task, informed secretary Angelika Eibl.

In the future, the sale will take place in Mitterbuch with assessor Edeltraud Rappold and husband Peter.

Loyal members were honored (standing, from left): Marita Neumaier, Franz Steutzger, Gabriele Lassak, Josef Kinstetter, Rosa Stanner, Eduard Hamburger, Georg Bondl, Georg Kunstwadl, Hannelore Steutzger, Maria Gruber and Elisabeth Huber and (seated, from left) Franz Seidl , Marianne Baumann and Anneliese Neumaier.

In her annual report for 2021, Eibl also recalled the planting and care of the welcome boards in Buch and in the Pastetten municipal area, a plum tree planting in the forest kindergarten or a bird protection lecture that was broadcast live for the first time.

Apples, pears and quinces were processed into 1800 liters of juice during the two-month fruit juice pressing process.

The number of members has increased by three to currently 327.

Since 2021 was still very much shaped by the pandemic, Monika Haberl-Harrer's cash report was short.

The income (5900 euros) clearly exceeded the expenses (4500 euros).

A pleasing plus was winning 1,000 euros in a campaign by VR-Bank Erding.

Since the sum must be used for a charitable purpose, according to Haberl-Harrer, it should benefit the offspring - possibly with an educational campaign on nature and species protection.

The baby trees campaign also fits in with this: for every newborn child, the gardening association plants a tree in the municipal area.

Six families have already agreed, reported Brigitte Gams-Zerling (report follows).

The 2nd chair also informed that this year there should be two smaller excursions instead of one lasting several days: on July 23rd to Dinkelsbühl and on September 17th to Augsburg or Innsbruck.

On August 3rd, the holiday program with Rott on the subject of bees will take place.

A lecture evening in Reithofen's Schützenheim with a herbalist is planned for October 6th.

In general, they want to work more closely with the Buachna Heimatverein on excursions or lectures in the future, Stockl informed.

Other awards from previous years were made up for at the meeting.

"It's quite an achievement when you've been with a club for so long and remain loyal to it," Stockl praised and thanked.

As a young man, Josef Kinstetter joined the association and received a certificate with a pin of honor for 70 years of loyalty.

The former secretary Rosa Stanner, Gabriele Lassak, Benedikt Veicht and Hannelore Steutzger have been with us for 50 years, Georg Kunstwadl, Marianne Baumann, Anneliese Neumaier, Josef Maier, Marita Neumaier, Eduard Hamburger, Georg Bondl, Elisabeth Huber, Franz Steutzger for 40 years, Maria Gruber, Thomas Huber and Franz Seidl.
