The Stuttgart Spring Festival was well received by the visitors even without the festival tents.

Some innkeepers fear that they will not be served at the Cannstatter Volksfest.

Stuttgart - The spring festival in Stuttgart could take place again this year after a two-year corona break - but not in the usual form.

While the mask requirement and access restrictions were abolished, there was a strict ban on parties at the Stuttgart Spring Festival.

Among other things, visitors had to do without the popular and well-attended beer and festival tents.

Nevertheless, the 82nd Stuttgart Spring Festival was a complete success and the balance of the showmen was consistently positive.

Due to the lack of tents, there were hardly any alcohol excesses and there were more family visits, the operators reported with satisfaction.

However, some innkeepers now fear that the Cannstatter Volksfest in autumn will face a similar fate to the spring festival due to the positive response.

Landlords do everything to be allowed to set up tents on the Cannstatter Wasen

Landlords and breweries have concerns that, looking ahead, the city of Stuttgart may have found that celebrations at the Cannstatter Wasen can also work without beer tents.

The organizer in.Stuttgart has announced that it will analyze the situation together with the showmen's associations, the security authorities, the innkeepers and the city, as reported by the

Stuttgarter Zeitung

.

For the hosts, however, one thing is clear: marquees belong on a festival site, as BW24 reports.

"We accept our responsibility," assures tent manager Karl Maier.

The operators would always check and question themselves and therefore did not want to refuse an open discussion.

Maier also notes that both the innkeepers and breweries, as well as the organizer, invested a lot of money in the folk festival.

This includes, for example, spending on advertising on the square or for security services and toilets so as not to arouse the anger of the neighbors.

So far no talks with the city of Stuttgart - Some visitors still against beer tents

The organizers of the Cannstatter Wasen are currently planning a normal program - without masks, restrictions or controls and with the popular beer tents.

However, there has not yet been a conversation between the city of Stuttgart and the showmen's association, as chairman Mark Roschmann says.

He hopes "that you don't want to sit it out".

In the opinion of some citizens, one could certainly do without the beer tents at the Cannstatter Volksfest.

"It's very pleasant, without the alcohol corpses.

Also in the fall because of me,” writes a visitor to the Stuttgart Spring Festival on Facebook.

"Abolish drinking tents," demands another user.

"I dread the booze starting up again," says another.

Nevertheless, most Stuttgarters cannot imagine a folk festival without beer tents and hope that the attraction in Stuttgart will take place in the usual form.
