Qatna: The necessity of providing feed for livestock and controlling its distribution

The Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Engineer Mohamed Hassan Qatana, stressed the importance of the General Organization for Feed having a strategic stockpile of various fodder materials not less than 100,000 tons and storing them properly for positive intervention in the market when crises occur and when necessary in order to provide the material for livestock and achieve a price balance in terms of materials Fodder and livestock products, pointing to the necessity of purchasing these quantities and securing them in various ways.

During today's meeting, Qatna indicated the necessity of determining the livestock sector's need for feed and the ability of the private sector to what can be secured from it, and working to secure the largest amount through the Feed Corporation, stressing the control of the distribution of feed for poultry and stopping the distribution of feed rations to them as raw material and presenting them as manufactured material in the form of ready-made capsules. According to the correct technical specifications and the importance of testing the bran material when it is received from the mill ground.

The minister revealed that the ministry will start counting livestock soon by launching numbering campaigns for herds according to a new scientific mechanism and foundations, and the beginning will be from herds of buffalo, camels and horses, and then the rest of the herds, with the aim of determining their needs of fodder materials, controlling the process of distributing rations, achieving justice and stopping waste.

The minister called on the directors of the branches of the Feed Corporation in the governorates to draw up a comprehensive study to rehabilitate all the facilities affiliated with them and to determine their needs in terms of equipment, cadres and others to be a basis for their implementation in the future and to put them in investment plans with the aim of developing the work of the branches and their centers and raising their performance.
