Russia renewed its call for respecting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Syria, expressing its concern over the recent Israeli aggression against it, which led to some material losses in the infrastructure of Damascus International Airport.
Sputnik news agency quoted the Russian Foreign Ministry as saying in a statement today: The Russian President’s special envoy to the Middle East and African countries, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, expressed, during his meeting with the ambassador of the Israeli occupation entity in Moscow, his “deep concern about the Israeli air raid on Damascus International Airport, which This resulted in damage to a runway, equipment and navigational buildings, and damage to international civil air traffic.”
Bogdanov indicated that "due to the damage, the delivery of humanitarian supplies by the United Nations aviation services to millions of Syrians has been disrupted."
The statement pointed out that Bogdanov informed the ambassador of the Israeli occupation entity that "Moscow is awaiting additional clarifications from the Israeli side" about this aggression.
Bogdanov stressed that Russia "continually follows a line regarding the inadmissibility of turning Syrian territory into an armed confrontation arena for third countries, and insists on respecting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Syria in accordance with international law and the Charter of the United Nations."
Last Friday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova confirmed that "Russia strongly condemns the Israeli air raid and calls on the Israeli side to stop this evil practice," stressing that the Israeli aggression against Syria "constitutes a violation of the basic rules of international law."
And our air defense media responded at dawn last Friday to an Israeli aggression with missiles that targeted some points south of the city of Damascus, and shot down most of the hostile missiles.
