The Director-General of the Communications and Postal Regulatory Authority, Eng. Manhal Junaidi, stressed in a statement to SANA reporter on the sidelines of the meeting that was held at the authority’s building, the importance of continuing work and cooperation in all areas of communications and information technology to develop communications and information technology services, pointing to the importance of Syrian-Russian cooperation in the field of e-government and e-learning services. and satellite services.
Junaidi pointed to the importance of activating cooperation between the private and public sectors of both countries in this field, while adhering to the conditions, standards and controls whose services are in the interest of the citizens of the two countries. It relates to communications and constitutes an opportunity to increase training opportunities for workers in this important sector.
For his part, the Deputy Director-General of the Authority for Technical Affairs, Eng. Atef Al-Dairi confirmed that the meeting was a culmination of the proposals of the previous meetings in the field of enhancing cooperation in the provision of communications, information technology and postal services, as it calls for benefiting from the technological development in the field of Russian satellite communications and enhancing the services currently provided to the media, in addition to the possibility of providing Satellite Internet services in remote areas by finding local companies to cooperate with the Russian side in this.
The meeting included, according to Al-Dairi, the talk about cybersecurity within the scope of the government’s orientation towards digital transformation, the completion of the necessary projects, and benefiting from the Russian experience and expertise, which contributes to providing support for capacity-building in the field of communications and information technology, and the possibility of receiving students in Russian universities, which constitutes a valuable opportunity for them and enhances their rapprochement. Views between businessmen and telecommunications companies operating in both countries and achieves knowledge exchange.
