The College of Civil Engineering team won the Al-Baath University Football Championship after defeating the Economy team by four goals to one in the final match of the competition.
The head of the Student Union branch at Al-Baath University, Ali Hammadi, pointed out in a statement to SANA the importance of this tournament, which allowed the youth of the university’s faculties to enter the atmosphere of competition in football, pointing to the support provided by the Union to support students to develop their sports talents to be able to prove their worth in all forums later.
In turn, the head of the Sports Activity Office in the Union branch, Hayan Jumaa, explained that the tournament was launched on the tenth of last month, with the participation of 24 teams from the university’s colleges and institutes, and witnessed a strong competition between the teams to win the cup and achieve the championship titles, which were achieved by Ramy Sammour, the top scorer of the tournament, and Obada Hassoun, the best goalkeeper.
