The Teachers' Union announced today (Wednesday) that it will expand its sanctions to the Tel Aviv district - and will open classes on Sunday at 10:00.
According to the Histadrut, the sanctions will include kindergartens, elementary schools and middle schools in the district.

The localities to which the sanctions will be extended on Thursday:
Or Yehuda, Bnei Brak, Bat Yam, Givatayim, Herzliya, Holon, Netanya, Petah Tikva, Kiryat Ono, Ramat Gan, Ramat Hasharon, Tel Aviv-Yafo, Azor, Kfar Shmaryahu.

Today, classes began in the Southern District at 10 p.m.
This is after the opening of the school day in the Northern District was delayed on Tuesday and three days ago they started late in the Haifa District.
"In light of the sheep silence of almost all current members of the government, which prides itself on promoting equality of opportunity and preventing discrimination against women, I wonder if everyone ignores the enormous difficulties facing the education system," said Teachers Union secretary general Yaffa Ben-David. "Tens of thousands of teachers and kindergarten teachers who earn meager wages and are forced to work extra jobs in order to finish the month. I ask myself what will motivate them to action? Only in September when they will understand that a third of Israeli students do not have a class teacher?"
