The Ministry of Transport confirmed that the ongoing restoration and repair work for the technical workshops is continuing around the clock to rehabilitate the damaged parts of Damascus International Airport, which resulted from the Israeli aggression, and no specific date has been announced for the return of work at the airport.
During a tour of the Minister of Transport, Eng. Zuhair Khuzaym, to see the pace of the ongoing restoration and repair work at the airport, he confirmed the follow-up to the planned schedule and the optimal investment of the time factor associated with the technical quality standards of the works, noting that the technical workshops continue their work around the clock to rehabilitate the damaged parts of the airport.
Khuzaiem was also briefed on the airport's firefighting and civil defense systems, their readiness and supplies, and the work of maintenance teams and technicians that work to carry out the necessary maintenance in the airport's sections and equipment.
Minister Khuzaym also followed up on the work of the Syrian aircraft maintenance workshops in the hangar allotted to them, kitchen departments, equipment and all air navigation services.
On the tenth of this June, the Ministry of Transport announced that the brutal Israeli aggression had targeted at dawn on Friday the infrastructure of Damascus International Airport, which caused the airport's runways to be out of service with navigational lighting, in addition to the material damages to the second terminal building of the airport. As a result of these damages, incoming and outgoing flights were suspended via airport until further notice.
