Since the start of the war in Ukraine on February 24, the conflict between Volodymyr Zelensky's army and Russia has claimed tens of thousands of lives.

Between 15,000 and 20,000 Russian soldiers are said to have been killed.

Ukraine, for its part, claims to lose a hundred soldiers every day.

On Friday June 3, after 100 days of fighting, President Volodymyr Zelensky publishes a video on Instagram in which he wants to be optimistic: “Victory will be ours.

The journalist Vincent Mongaillard was at that time the special envoy of the Parisian in the Donbass, in the east of the country, where the fighting and the bombardments are concentrated.

For nine days, he met Ukrainian soldiers and civilians, torn between hope and pessimism.
