An indictment was filed this week against a 17-year-old minor from Dimona for setting fire to his sister's vehicle.

In addition, a request was submitted to extend his detention until the end of the proceedings.

On May 26, around five in the morning, the Israel Police received a report of a car being set on fire in a residential parking lot in Dimona.

At the end of the extinguishing operations, it emerged that two vehicles were damaged.

There was a suspicion that it was an arson and the investigation was assigned to the youth department at Dimona station.

On the same day, a 17-year-old minor resident of Dimona was arrested as a suspect in the act while violating house arrest.

For 16 days his detention was extended from time to time on suspicion of setting fire to his sister’s vehicle.

Major Tzadik Avraham, head of the youth department at Dimona station, said about the arson: "This is a serious incident of intentional arson in which vehicles were damaged and a lot of damage was done.

"As soon as the identity of the suspect became known, we immediately acted to arrest him and remove him from the public sphere while prosecuting him."
