"The Pearl of Indersdorf": Just one day before the official opening, more than 300 visitors came to the monastery beer garden

In fantastically beautiful weather, the Indersdorf monastery beer garden was put back into operation.

The official opening was supposed to be on Corpus Christi, but all hell broke loose the day before, at the planned “soft opening”.

– On Wednesday, not only invited guests came, but also many citizens from the market town who could not wait any longer to finally sit in this beautiful beer garden next to the monastery ensemble and the parish church.

This should be the final proof of how much all friends of beer garden culture have missed this beer garden over the past 13 years!

So it was not only a great pleasure for operator Ewald Zechner and owner Werner Schilcher that the around 300 places were quickly occupied.

The market town councilors and district day president Sepp Mederer were not missing either, when the mayor flawlessly tapped the first wooden barrel from the Augustiner brewery with just three taps, without losing a drop of this free beer.

"You can see that everyone is happy that this slumber is finally over and that we can celebrate in this pearl of Indersdorf," emphasized Franz Obesser.

Opening within a few weeks was a "work of strength"

"I'm proud that Saint Augustine can now look down on us from the church tower," said Augustinerbräu area manager Franz Höcht, who, like many other beer garden visitors, came to the opening in traditional Dachau costumes.

Of course, innkeeper Zechner and the owner of the brewery complex including beer garden, Werner Schilcher, were also happy.

Zechner, whom many guests know as the host of the Dachau folk festival and the innkeeper at the Pellheimer Gasthaus Liegsalz, emphasized that it was a feat of strength to help the monastery beer garden to breathe new life within a few weeks and, above all, to get the personnel situation under control.

It was Werner Schilcher's wife Renate who encouraged him to tackle the beer garden project.

Werner Schilcher himself also emphasized that such a beer garden was simply missing in Indersdorf and that the people of Indersdorf owed it a remedy.

He assumes that he has found a good partner in Zechner.

The monastery beer garden in the heart of Markt Indersdorf was already full of life during the opening hours.

Manager at the beer garden is Dominik Vettori, who forms a management team with his sister Vanessa.

Head chef Sigfried Hohlwein was also able to collect initial plus points, spoiling the beer garden delicacies such as roast pork, grilled neck ridges, kebab pans or sausage salad.

The guests were also enthusiastic about the pub music, performed by the trio "Grad No", which also played again on Thursday on Corpus Christi.

There will be even more live music in the beer garden in the future.

"Grod No" will be honored this Friday and Sunday, June 19th.

The Indersdorf brass band will play tomorrow, Saturday, June 18, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., "Casablanca" can be heard on Saturday, June 24, and the "Hound Dogs" will make their debut on Sunday, July 10.
