The Coloso de Santa Úrsula, in the south of the Mexican capital, better known as Estadio Azteca, will become the first to host three different world cups: in 1970, when Pelé was crowned with Brazil;
1986, when Maradona led Argentina to victory and 2026.

The BMO stadium in
Toronto
and BC in
Vancouver
, British Columbia, will be the venues for the matches to be played in Canada, which will host a World Cup for the first time.
The candidacy of the three largest countries in North America prevailed over that of Morocco, which hoped to host this international competition for the first time.

The World Cup in North America will be the first in which 48 teams play, a major change that will mean adjustments to the qualification system for the World Cup and during the competition.
In Qatar, which will host this 2022, only 32 nations qualified, as has been the custom since 1998.
