A BMW crashed under a truck on the A9 near Schnaittach. The driver died immediately and the truck driver suffered a shock.
Schnaittach – There was a serious car accident on the A9 towards Munich on Wednesday (June 15) just before the Hormersdorf junction.
This was announced by the police in Central Franconia.
A human died.

According to previous knowledge, the 27-year-old driver of a BMW, 5 series, with Polish registration, drove into the rear of a truck at high speed at around 1:38 a.m.
More than half of the car fell under the trailer of the truck and was massively deformed.
"The BMW driver suffered such serious injuries as a result of the impact that he died immediately at the scene of the accident and the emergency services found no signs of life on him," the police said in a press release.
At the time of the accident, the driver of the articulated lorry was properly on the right of the three lanes.
The truck driver suffered a shock as a result of the accident, but was otherwise uninjured.
The BMW driver did not survive the accident.

Investigating officers from the Bayreuth traffic police were assisted by an expert in reconstructing the accident on the order of the Nuremberg-Fürth public prosecutor's office.
Both vehicles were seized as evidence.

In addition to the fire brigade and rescue service, the THW was also deployed to protect against traffic jams.
The vehicles were recovered and the roadway cleaned afterwards.
After four hours, all lanes of the A9 towards Munich were released again.
"The traffic that was initially backed up between the accident site and the Plech junction was soon diverted past the accident site in one lane.
Overall, traffic backed up eight kilometers in the initial phase.
The property damage to the BMW and the trailer is estimated at around 13,000 euros.
