An active movement witnessed by the Qasioun Sports Club in Damascus with the start of the summer season, specifically through its summer schools, in which children of different age groups attend to develop their skills in the games adopted by the club, whether individual or collective.
SANA’s camera visited the club’s facility and had a stand with the cadres of the boxing and basketball games, where the basketball school is witnessing a heavy turnout from the young age groups, while boxing is also enjoying new talents that promise champion projects coming strongly to the sport of noble art.
In a statement to SANA, the club’s boxing coach, Muhammad Dhamiriya, said: We produce annually many boxing talents according to the latest training methods adopted in the game. In preparation for participating in the Arab Championship, in parallel with preparing our players to participate in the local championships.
His conscience goes back to the nineties of the last century, and pointed out that Qasioun Club was and still is one of the diligent clubs in boxing. To the Police and Army Clubs, he noted the importance of the women's category entering the sport of boxing, as it constituted a new addition by joining the club in 2017, with the players achieving outstanding results in the local championships established by the game federation during the past years.
Basketball coaches at the club’s summer school, Ibtisam Al-Zeer and Yazan Dibba, pointed out the importance of the strategy that Qasioun Club is working on by focusing on the young age groups, which start from the age of four years, with the aim of building strong teams that are synonymous with the higher groups, especially since the club has been during the past years A strong competitor during the league championship and aspires to move away from competition with new blood that will serve the team's march in the championships.
Although their ambitions differ with their different games practiced in the club, the goal is common, which is to represent the club in the local championships as a first step, and to develop their level to reach the national team, participate with it in its external benefits, and win shining medals.
