There is a lot going on on the motorway during the travel season, because drivers usually make faster progress here, since there are no pedestrians crossing the road or cyclists sharing the route.
"However, it's not always bright sunshine on the autobahn," the officials realize, because: "Among other things, 'middle lane creepers', as they are colloquially known, can significantly impede progress and impair traffic safety."

"Mid-lane creeper" on motorways - "Not always easy"
Anyone who legally wants to overtake on the left must use the left lane due to the vehicle driving in the middle lane.
Two lanes are therefore required for cutting in and out, which must be kept in view.
