The Ministry of Health will hold an emergency hearing today (Thursday) on the question of whether to close the oncology institute of the Wolfson Hospital in Holon following the conflict between the ward director and the hospital director, which causes the ward to be shut down and cancer patients not receiving treatment.

At the same time, the office ordered Sheba Hospital to prepare for the admission of patients from Wolfson.

Yesterday, cancer patients at the hospital said that the oncology institute was not staffed and that they were not receiving treatment.

"This is a scandal and a complete abandonment of our lives," they said.

This, following the nurses' non-arrival at work due to abuse, according to them, by the institute's director, Dr. Ronen Brenner.

The institute's management and medical staff have a series of disagreements - the nurses claim inappropriate treatment and on the other hand Dr. Brenner claimed that the hospital director Anat Engel is working against him and inciting the nurses. "The severe reductions in the institute's staff and the closure of the oncology ward are hurting our care and endangering our lives," the patients said. "This morning is a new record.

The nurses abandoned us. "

The hospital said that there was indeed an internal crisis at the institute and that serious allegations had been made about the director, Dr. Brenner. However, the patients said that Dr. Brenner was treating them "exceptionally" and that thanks to the treatment they had received so far they were alive.

"We must not allow the hospital

management to impair its ability to continue to treat us," the patients added.

The Oncology Institute reported abuse and violence by Dr. Ronen Brenner.

"At the forefront of our care is the care of patients and of course ensuring a protected space for the staff," they said.

"The hospital's management is working and has currently succeeded in producing suitable solutions for patients so that they receive the necessary treatments and assistance. The Ministry of Health is updated and involved in the matter and a committee has been set up to examine serious complaints."
